MeltDown


Meltdown was my first group project at Full Sail University over the course of two weeks. My group and I chose to create a 2D time based platformer, where the player controls a snowman that is trying to outrun the season changing from winter to spring. The player has pickups that can slow the changing of the season, reduce the melting rate of the player temporarily, or “heal” the player by adding snow respectively. The players health is represented visually in the top left as well as with the players current size.

On Meltdown, I was a designer/programmer. My duties included:

  • Movement

  • Pickups and interactions

  • Season Change

  • Melting Rate and visual representation

  • Season Slow Power-up (Snowflake with green box)

  • Cold Snap Power-up (Snowflake caused player to stop melting temporarily)

  • Snowpile Power-up (Added health to the player)
